Northwest Austin Sertoma is fortunate to help many organizations in Central Texas with their underlying mission. Our efforts are in the form of financial donations, scholarships, and hands-on participation in various events.
Some of Northwest Austin Sertoma's beneficiaries include wonderful organizations such as:
Heroes Night Out - Heroes Night Out is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide our wounded heroes and their families dinners, a day or night at a sporting event, amusement park, or any other venue that gives them a well deserved break from their every day routine while recovering from their injuries.
Texas School For the Deaf - Texas School for the Deaf, located in Austin, is the oldest continuously operating publicly funded school in Texas. Since 1857, over 10,000 students have graced the halls of TSD. In addition to educating students who are deaf and hard of hearing, TSD now serves as a resource center on deafness for students, parents, professionals and others throughout the state.
The Care Communities - The Care Communities provides Care Team services to people with cancer and AIDS. The Care Communities (a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization) was formed in 1991 by dedicated people of faith who wanted to provide practical and compassionate support to those living with AIDS in the Austin area. As TCC grew, it expanded its focus to include cancer.
The Settlement Home for Children - At the Settlement Home for Children, we believe that healing and learning take place when a child's deepest needs are met, both physically and mentally. We are dedicated to helping children who have been abused and neglected by resolving their emotional, behavioral and familial problems and providing quality residential care.
